The City Winery recently hosted the talented acts of Matt Costa, JD and the Straight Shot and Matt Hartke. The night started off with talented songwriter Matt Hartke. Hartke’s uplifting, acoustic sound set the perfect mood to start the night. JD and the Straight Shot hit the stage afterward. The Americana band performed hits from their latest album, The Great Divide. The compelling stories that are told within their songs certainly caught my attention and made the performance even more enjoyable. One can truly appreciate the clean acoustic sound from the album and, in my opinion, the band has perfected that sound when it comes to a live set.
Matt Costa closed the night at City Winery. Matt performed from his newest album Santa Rosa Fangs. Matt’s travels have lead him through a journey of discovery and success, by learning and applying that knowledge to his music. His vintage pop, fused with acoustic sound and raw emotion that radiated through his performance was felt throughout the room throughout the set. Matt is planning on releasing new music this year so keep an eye out for that!
