CALLING ALL MUSIC LOVERS!  This Wednesday, Brooklyn based band Lucius returns to Chicago!  Now, if you haven’t seen or heard of Lucius yet (get out of your box already, will you?), you are completely missing out.  Their first album Wildewoman was released about a year ago, and the band continues to enchant old and new fans alike.

I have been lucky enough to see them twice live—once at Cubby Bear and once again this past summer at Forecastle Festival in Louisville.  Both times, the band blew me away with their powerful live set.  Their use of percussion and Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig’s perfect harmonizing makes for an incredibly full-bodied sound that will rock you to your core.  Always wanting to keep fans on their toes, they like to alter the composition of their songs for their live performances.  Whether they are slowing a song down and making it more emotional or adding extra percussion to make it fiercer, this band is truly great at keeping it fresh for their fans.

Low down of what to expect: unbelievable vocals, music that will move you in every sense of the term, matching outfits, and just maybe they’ll come into the crowd to do a stripped down song for you all.  Enjoy your new band crush, everyone.
