Post Animal: Your New Favorite Chicago Band.

Chicago natives Post Animal took it upon themselves to get the crowd hyped at Northerly Island, opening for pop superstars 5 Seconds of Summer. Not their first taste of the limelight, the psychedelic rock band has previously toured with Cage the Elephant and played festivals such as Bonnaroo, with the Chicago Tribune describing their sound as “if Tame Impala listened to a lot of Black Sabbath and were signed to Elephant 6.”

Despite a packed stage of five members, each held their own and commanded attention in a unique way, with the audiences heads turning from side to side to catch the jumps, hair flips (honestly I saw at least a dozen girls at the front barricade swoon after the first flick of perfectly ‘Indie-messy-boy-grunge’ hair) and clear emotion from the band.

Bound to be returning to a Chicago stage near you, stay up to date with the band’s latest news via their Instagram, here.
