The Death of a Tour brings grandson back to Chicago to play us an unforgettable show at Bottom Lounge. Supporting him on tour are Royal & the Serpent (RATS) and Nova Twins.
My first time seeing grandson was last year at Lollapalooza, and they gave an insane performance that day! Seeing front lead Jordan and the band control the huge crowds at Lollapalooza was unbelievable. Therefore, it was to be expected that tonight’s show was going to be one for the books.
grandson’s debut album, Death of an Optimist, takes the listener on a journey of self doubt and a defeatist realization – yet gives us the hope to fight for a better world. This tour helps bring the album to life with the exhilarating performance grandson gave us. Head banging to grandson’s unique use of EDM and rock melodies was exactly what the crowd was hungry for that night. Hearing my favorite song “We Did It!!!” again felt like dejavú. The night was not over, following the performance of “Blood//Water” the band decides to play an acoustic set outside the venue. What a great treat for us Chicago fans!
grandson’s talent continues to impress us. He has collaborated with various musicians throughout his career such as Mike Shinoda, Steve Aoki, Jessie Reyez, K. Flay, Travis Barker and Kesha, just to name a few. I cannot wait for grandson to release new music, but in the meantime, one can listen to Death of an Optimist on any music streaming platform. Chicago is always happy to have grandson play a show here. We can’t wait to have you back!
