Hidden gems of the week…

FRIDAY (4/19):  In The Whale @ Liar’s Club (1665 W Fullerton Ave)

The Denver rock duo, In The Whale, is swinging through Chicago this Friday as part of their eight-year anniversary tour. The pair will be showcasing songs from their recently released, 6-track EP Dopamine. Check out their rowdy single “Teeth” below and get your tickets to Friday’s show here.

SATURDAY (4/20):  Ohtis  @ Lincoln Hall

Supporting The Murlocs at Lincoln Hall, this Illinois country-Americana band will be playing songs from their debut album Curve of Earth, an album which deals with songwriter Sam Swinson’s struggles with substance abuse and the religious demons lingering from being rasied in a fundamentalist evangelical cult. The band has gone a tremendous journey since they started it up as teenagers. There were lineup changes and a hiatus during Swinson’s more difficult years, but having reached stable sobriety, Ohtis was resurrected! Get tickets to Saturday’s show at Lincoln Hall here.
