Swede Petter Ericson Stakee and his Brooklynite pals closed out Mother’s Day Weekend with some feel-good jams last Sunday night at Schubas.
For those of you who were NOT there with your mothers, you missed a truly fantastic show. While I think that Stakee’s voice and his guitar work could easily stand on their own and still be successful, the fullness of the sound created when all the other band members are added in is overwhelmingly powerful. The rich sound of horns, synths, drums, multiple guitars, and Stakee’s voice came together and filled the room with soul grabbing music. I’m usually pretty bummed on on Sunday nights that the weekend is over, but Alberta Cross lifted my spirits and put me in a good place heading into the week.
