English musician, Eliot Sumner, finished out her US tour in Chicago this past Thursday night at Lincoln Hall. Being the daughter of Sting and Trudie Styler, Sumner has an aura of mystery about her. Although her lusciously deep voice quickly marks her as the daughter of Sting, her music has a personality of its own. Armed with her bass guitar and clad in unassuming clothes, Sumner easily kept the attention of the crowd with her unique sound. Emanating power, Sumner glared out into the crowd with intensity as she made her way through the setlist. Breaking composure only a few times, a large grin popped up on her face as the crowd got into the music.
Sumner is a force to be reckoned with. Her new material is a huge departure from her earlier project, “I Blame Coco.” With her distinctive voice, new sound, and grateful personality, she is definitely someone to keep an eye on!
