The punctual concert-goers who arrived to see the start of Thursday’s show at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre were treated to the musical stylings of the Lei brothers. I had seen them a few months ago in Schubas which, as many of you know, is a very intimate venue. While The Bots had no problem filling the small room with their boisterous sound, I was concerned how it would play out in the big leagues. Touring alongside Incubus, Deftones, and Death From Above 1979, The Bots have gotten a shot at playing larger venues and along with gaining a great deal of exposure. As they started playing, I was quickly reminded how much sound The Bots are able to make with just two members. They had no problem at all filling the unconfined venue out in Tinley Park. Brothers Mikaiah and Anaiah Lei were shy with the crowd, but I’m sure that will slowly evolve as they feel more comfortable in front of large crowds and realize how great they are.
